The Mother's Prayer 7-Day Candle is created in honor of one of the most powerful and enduring forms of love—the prayers of a mother for her children.

A mother's prayer follows her children into places she cannot.

How to Use

1. Write Your Children's Names
Write the names of your children on a small piece of paper.

You may also include stepchildren, adopted children, godchildren, grandchildren, or anyone you hold as your child in your heart.

Beneath their names, write:

“May my children be protected, guided, healthy, loved, prosperous, wise, peaceful, and surrounded by opportunities and people that contribute positively to their lives.”

2. Write What You Want for Them
A mother's prayer does not have to focus only on danger.

Write what you want your children to experience:

Love.

Peace.

Education.

Health.

Financial security.

Confidence.

Joy.

Healthy relationships.

Successful careers.

Safe homes.

Long lives.

Give your prayer somewhere beautiful to go.

3. Place Your Petition
Place the petition safely beneath or beside your candle. Family photographs may be placed nearby, but keep them safely away from the flame.

4. Light & Call Their Names
As you light the candle, speak each child's name.

If one child is especially heavy on your heart, speak their name and pray specifically for what they need.

You do not need perfect words.

Sometimes a mother's most powerful prayer is simply:

5. Pray Daily
Return to your candle each day and continue praying over your children.

The babies I carried.

The babies who are grown now but will forever be my babies.

You know each of them by name.

You know what they tell me.

You know what they do not tell me.

You know the worries they carry quietly because they do not want Mama to worry.

Go where I cannot go.

Stand where I cannot stand.

See what I cannot see.

When they leave my home, go with them.

When they drive, ride with them.

When they travel, protect their journey.

When they walk into classrooms, workplaces, hospitals, courtrooms, relationships, unfamiliar cities, or unfamiliar circumstances, let protection arrive before they do.

Give them discernment concerning people.

Let them recognize genuine friendship.

Let them recognize genuine love.

Let them recognize manipulation before it becomes bondage.

Give them mentors who teach them.

Give them opportunities that stretch them without destroying their peace.

Let their gifts make room for them.

Let their businesses prosper.

Let their careers grow.

Let them have enough money to live without constant fear.

Let them own something.

Let them save something.

Let them build something.

Let them leave something for the generation coming after them.

Where I struggled, let them have opportunity.

Where I lacked knowledge, let them have access.

Where doors were closed to me, let the right doors open for them.

And when those doors open, make them prepared enough to walk through.

If my child is hurting and has not told me, send comfort.

If my child is afraid, send courage.

If my child is confused, send clarity.

If my child is lonely, send genuine companionship.

If my child has made a mistake, let the mistake become a lesson instead of a life sentence.

If my child has wandered from everything I taught them, protect them while they find their way.

And give me wisdom as their mother.

Teach me when to speak.

Teach me when to listen.

Teach me when to help.

Teach me when to stop rescuing.

Teach me when to hold on.

Teach me when loving them requires allowing them to make their own decisions.

Help me remember that my children belong to themselves too.

If I have made mistakes as their mother, give me humility enough to acknowledge them.

If I owe an apology, let me give it.

If our relationship has become distant, make room for honest conversation.

Where reconciliation is possible and healthy, open that road.

Let my children never wonder whether I love them.

Let me say it.

Let me make sure they know while I am still here to tell them.

And one day, when my chair is empty and they cannot call Mama anymore, let something I gave them remain.

While working this candle, consider writing your children a letter.

Tell them the family stories you never want forgotten. Write down your recipes. Explain the lessons life taught you the hard way. Tell them what makes you proud of them. Tell them what you hope they will teach their own children.

Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep the wick properly trimmed and discontinue use if the glass becomes cracked or damaged.
